Operations Support Manager

Location: Chertsey

Reporting To: Head of Operations

Purpose:

The Operations Support Manager is responsible for the leadership, management of Operations functions, these are Production, Stores, Purchasing and Facilities within Operations department at Drumgrange Limited. Driving performance in support of customer requirement and the business strategy, goals and vision by creating a clear and robust plan that optimises performance, delivers efficiency and generates value for money through each function and area of accountability.

As the Operations Support Manager you will lead, promote and influence behaviours, developing a culture of continuous improvement in quality, safety, efficiency and delivery. This will include involvement at all levels of the business in both an advisory and implementation capacity to ensure the successful delivery of projects.  

Accountabilities:

  • Work under the direction of the Head of Operations and Senior Management Team to deliver effective management of production, stores, and procurement and facilities functions through strong leadership, robust planning and the maintenance of timely schedules without compromising on safety and quality compliance.
  • Create, plan and implement department and functional management strategies that increase efficiency, performance and value for money ensuring all elements have the required capacity, capability and controls to support current and future operations.
  • Determine, monitor and measure Key Performance Indicator’s fostering and encouraging a continuous improvement culture.
  • Problem solve issues to find cost effective solutions that ensure lead times and project requirements are met.
  • Accountable for the management, efficiency and cost effectiveness of all system & business services, buildings, grounds and company assets.  Through the review and monitoring of related expenditure to ensure best value is achieved and that all work is delivered in a cost effective and timely manner. This includes management of; the company vehicle fleet, mobile phones, energy provision, printers and stationery, cleaning services, buildings maintenance, physical security equipment and any other task or service detailed by the Head of Operations.
  • Deliver and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for the cleaning and maintenance of all buildings and grounds at Drumgrange Chertsey to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, upkeep and safety.
  • Ensure the physical security arrangements for all premises are operational and in compliance with Security Policy and requirements as directed by the Security Manager
  • Support and lead in demonstrating Health and Safety compliance within the operations department, ensuring that all statutory elements of health and safety are applied.
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement in quality, safety and performance through robust metrics and a structured process.
  • Take ownership and manage relevant company processes and procedures, providing review and managing change to ensure all current standards, legislation and work practices are kept up to date providing efficient and effective workflows.
  • Liaise with the Operations Support Manager at Drumgrange Portland, to ensure that operational procedures and work practices are aligned with the company needs.
  • Support and delegate for the Head of Operations at customer and senior management reviews.
  • Any other reasonable request to enable the success & achievement of the department 

 Essential Skills & Experience:

  • CIPS Level 3 (Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations) or Level 5 IoSCM (Supply Chain and Operations Management) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience with an ERP system
  • Understanding of business process design and implementation
  • Excellent planning, organisation & problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience managing and leading multi-function team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills at all stakeholder levels
  • Good understanding and use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain UK security clearance
  • Current clean driving license
