Quality Assurance Engineer

Reporting To: Quality Assurance Manager

Purpose: We are seeking a highly organised and experienced quality assurance engineer to join our expanding  organisation. In this position, you will work with the Quality Assurance Manager and other team members to  continually improve our existing Quality procedures and processes (QMS). You should also have experience of working within a full project lifecycle (requirements through to support) within both hardware and software systems. This will include the development of project Quality planning documentation and auditing.

Essential Skills & Experience;

  • An understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance environment.
  • A good understanding of the ISO9001 and TickIT plus standards and their requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis methods.
  • Internal and external auditing experience.
  • Experience in the collation of Quality Metrics.
  • Experience in Software and hardware system lifecycles.
  • Experience in writing clear and concise reports.
  • A robust approach to managing quality within the business.
  • Good computer and literacy skills.
  • The ability to communicate assertively and professionally with internal & external contacts.
  • High levels of accuracy, strong attention to detail and methodical approach; able to write thorough and clear reports.
  • A results-driven approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities, working to tight deadlines.
  • A good team player approach with a flexible attitude to work load.
  • Ability to attain SC UK security clearance


  • Support or represent the QAM at appropriate project lifecycle reviews (internal and external).
  • Support or author project quality documentation.
  • Assisting in or conducting Internal or Supplier Audits.
  • Conducting Final Verification of Products.
  • Mechanical, Electronic and Electrical Inspections.
  • Non-Conformance and Root Cause Investigations.
  • Control and storage of Quality Records.
  • Development and applying testing processes and equipment.
  • Preparing reports on Quality Metrics.
  • Supplier interaction on non-conformance issues.
  • Assisting the QA Manager in investigating Customer Complaints/Rejects.
  • Drive improvements to the QMS.
  • Take part in the review process of Test Plan and Design Documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Full driving license
  • Bsc Quality or an Engineering equivalent
  • Ability to travel within the UK or abroad as required.
  • Knowledge of other standards e.g. 14001 etc.
